Oh my his daughter dodged a major bullet. She was fortunate to have a dad who was informed and was willing to have those difficult conversations. Two questions. Is there any correlation between family structure and children presenting as gender dysphoric? For example, are children of divorced or divorcing parents more likely to present with gender dysphoria? And what is the likely impact of proposed family law changes which will probably disadvantage one parent (usually fathers) in terms of access to their children?

Having said that, this is a very valuable report in terms of describing the, dare I say, cavalier process by which children are funneled into irreversible, experimental treatments with permanent maiming and life changing consequences; treatments which the medicos themselves have admitted have unknown long-term effects (not that the known short- and mid-term effects aren't already evident and horrific). Thst this is going on at the Women's and Children's in Adelaide is a disgrace. In recent years it seems to have veered towards a certain stream of ideology (which has no place in medicine) but it's difficult to tell whether that comes from South Australia's Department of Health or from the hospital administrators. Probably a bit of both.

This also demonstrates how important it is to get information out and why your work Bernard, and the work of so many other individuals and groups to inform the public is so valuable. It was clear from Frank's testimony that not even the courts would have given him a possibility of protecting his daughter. So until we can see some laws changed and some procedures prohibited for lack of any scientific evidence, the first line of defense will have to be families and informed parents.

Unfortunately all the applications and representations from concerned politicians such as this State parliamentary member and also recently from S.A. Senator Alex Antic for enquiry into treatment procedures for Childhood GD will be for naught , for as long as the ALP is in federal government. Their stated policy position remains as stated at their 2018 federal conference to be unequivocally in support of mandatory affirmative treatment protocol, which position is obligatory across all ALP held State governments’ legal jurisdictions. Any reversal of the status quo will require a State by State move to protect future vulnerable children. Queensland is well placed to lead the challenge with an incoming LNP State government in 2024. For as long as Health remains a State responsibility, then presumably any other State in which the coalition gains power, they might follows Queensland’s lead, regardless of a there being persistent federal ALP government?

I agree. It's probably futile to vote Labor and/or expect any changes from Labor given their policies are drawn up by the popularly unelected, hence unrepresentative swill at the NPF. Labor's faceless men notwithstanding, South Australia has Buckley's chance of legal reform with an attorney general like this https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11805297/South-Australian-attorney-general-Kyam-Maher-breaks-silence-Aboriginal-ancestry-questions.html

The frontline has to remain parents and families until we vote some responsible adults into our parliaments.
