There exists an epidemic/contagion of gender dysphoria among our young and vulnerable.
Despite what the zealots might say there appears to be no clear evidence that the invasive interventions are necessary and/or beneficial (all the more so given the fact that alternative approaches are frowned upon and not presented by those to whom such children will invariably be referred)
It can be assumed that the much-marketed and celebrated ‘affirmative’ approach to addressing those who feel that they were ‘born in the wrong body’ is a product of those so convinced that ‘transition’ is appropriate, indeed ‘life-saving’.
The traditional approach by a physician to a patient who is considering undergoing an extensive irreversible chemical and surgical interventions has been to present the facts in a non-persuasive manner and allow the patient to ponder and decide.
Affirmation, on the other hand, is persuasive and dishonest, all the more so when the dealing with pre-pubescent children.
Perhaps it would be more appropriate to replace the affirmation with one or more of the following:
Dissenting, negative, denying, disagreeing, disapproving, negating, conflicting, contradictory, opposing, heretical, protesting or even 'let's discuss the facts'.
The Dutch should be ashamed of themselves. They brought a plague upon the planet.
