it is clearly a social contagion promoted by physicians who have lost their way and are now so deep into this nonsense that any suggestion of doubt would be career ending - they're in the situation referenced in the old adage 'when you're in a hole' they have no alternative but to 'keep digging'.

How wonderfully ethical and beneficent of the American Plastic Surgeons! I am sure that their decision to stop mutilating children or at least being more circumspect in doing so has NOTHING to do with the recent $2 mill payout to a detransitioner who lost her breasts at 16 years of age.
They have been evaluating it for a while. Pre trump. Their ongoing review process has been mentioned in some articles over the past few years, eg, in BMJ, but I can't find the references right now. The NYT covered this in their morning newsletter like so: "A plastic surgeons’ group recommended delaying gender-affirming procedures until age 19, in contrast to the positions taken by most major U.S. medical associations." Yes, the largest board-certified plastic surgeons association is "a plastic surgeons' group."

Probably. Although the majority are sensible and don’t believe the lies. It’s a vociferous and vicious minority that perpetrate the trans myth.
