UN Media Statement, 24th April 2024 (in part)

Implementation of ‘Cass report’ key to protecting girls from serious harm, says UN (24 April 2024)

The UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls, Reem Alsalem, today welcomed the recent commitment by the UK Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to implement recommendations contained in the Independent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People (the Cass Review), and announcements by NHS Scotland and the Welsh Government that they would suspend the prescription of puberty blockers to children in the wake of the report’s findings.

Vincent, so NHS Scotland have changed their position, post the Cass report. Earlier there was concern, post Tavistock, that there would be a migration of English families across the border as Scotland seemed totally committed to medical intervention and NHS Scotland was seemingly independent. Presumably the UK wide hormones ban includes , of course, cross sex hormones? And presumably private prescribers are subject to the ban?

From the horses mouth Andrew:

In April, Scotland's NHS confirmed it had paused prescribing puberty blockers to children referred by its specialist gender clinic, The Sandyford in Glasgow. Following the UK health secretary's announcement, the Scottish government confirmed the indefinite ban would also apply north of the border.

So that’s all hormonal intervention? i.e., including cross sex hormones , perhaps initiated up to a defined age? How would older children, who are newly seeking , or wanting continued, cross sex hormones? and Vincent how about access to those “ outside “ dodgy sources who will always be happy to continue, or newly provide supply?

I love that GCN has global reach putting questions to cowardly politicians and medical authorities around the world. I can see the South Africans nervously analysing this weeks GCN. 🏆

It beggars belief that this experiment on the most vulnerable still goes on with no proper evidence as to the efficacy.

THE EVOLVING DEMISE OF THE FLAWED GENDER EXPERIMENT

World Health Organisation: WHO clarifies that Gender-Affirmative Care is not supported by evidence in children and adolescents.

Ms Reem Alsalem: UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women & Girls

Geneva, 24 April 2024: Welcomed the decision by health authorities in the United Kingdom to halt the routine use of puberty-blockers offered to children as part of gender transition services as outlined in the Cass Report.

United Kingdom: No new patient under 18 can receive puberty blockers for gender dysphoria. The Legislation applies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

United States: Persons under the age of 18 are barred from accessing gender-affirming health care in 25 States (half of the nation). Just a few years ago, not a single state had such a law.

Norway, Finland, Sweden, Holland: Have banned gender transition surgery for minors.

Denmark: Youth referred to the centralized gender clinic are no longer prescribed puberty blockers, hormones or surgery, instead they receive therapeutic counselling and support.

Germany: The German Medical Assembly Passes a Resolution to Restrict Youth Gender Transitions to Controlled Research Settings.

In Australia Affirmation reins with support of our prestigious health institutions:

The Australian Medical Association (AMA),The Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP), The Royal Australian College of GPs (RACGP), the Australian and New Zealand Professional Association for Transgender Health (ANZPATH) and, of course our Children’s Hospitals.

THUS: The World Health Organisation, UN Women, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Bulgaria, Denmark, England, Finland, Germany, Holland, Hungary,

Italy, Lithuania, Northern Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Sweden and 25 States in the US have banned gender transition in children while here in Australia the children are still lining up.

So , as detailed in Vincent Keane’s comments, there are now many countries, and states including the international institutions of the World Health Organization and the United Nations who are supporting and implementing bans on introducing puberty blockers for minors. This might be viewed as but the first step in shutting the gate on medical ( hormonal) intervention in , at least, the newly presenting minors. Such a step is firmly putting a steak in the ground in regards to rejection of supporting “ gender affirming care” If , then, obligatory hormonal intervention contribution to “ affirmative care” is seemingly coming to finally be viewed in all those quoted jurisdictions as totally anathema to medical practice, it leaves the two cohorts of post puberty minors on cross sex hormones, (i.e., those who presented beyond an age where PBs would have been initiated, and those who have transitioned to solely cross sex hormones) in some sort of limbo, in regards to the position taken by the medical profession to G.A.C.

My question: at what point should withdrawal of medical intervention occur, if medical professionals have decided to regard the gender identity ideology as what it has always been, a social science-led frolic ? The longer the beast has remained unchallenged, the stronger it has become.
