Yes, language always a mine field. Some US readers mistake plain “sex” for the amorous embrace & expect to see gender instead. B

Always a good read.

I would avoid writing “birth sex” it is like writing “birth skull” - you have one skull and will never have another one.

The term “delay puberty” is also a misnomer — there is no known way to “delay puberty”. Puberty involves a complex of hormones, sex hormones only being one.

Use of puberty blockers at onset, during, or after puberty causes partial or complete sterilization. Thats the correct term - partial or complete sterilizing drugs.

It simply boggles the mind that “puberty blockade” is an accepted “treatment” at all. Ever. Under any circumstances. Puberty is an essential and fundamental process that every human must go through to achieve wholeness and maturation. We are living in outrageous times.

Physicians and researchers involved in this absolute abuse are well aware of that in my opinion.

SOCIAL CONTAGION

Social Contagion is defined as the spread of behaviours, attitudes, and affect through crowds and other types of social aggregates from one member to another.

Adolescents are prone to social contagion because they may be especially susceptible to peer influence and social media.

Social contagion spreads when behaviours, emotions, or attitudes are transmitted from one person to another within a social network.

AN EXAMPLE OF SOCIAL CONTAGION

Some adolescents identify as transgender and experience gender dysphoria due to peer influence and social contagion, particularly those ‘assigned’ female at birth.

WHAT NOT TO DO

If your child suggests that they were ‘born in the wrong body avoid, at all cost, taking him/her to a gender clinic.

The oft quoted claim that puberty blockers and the rest of the child ‘transition’ process is ‘lifesaving’ is nonsense, presumably propagated to ‘justify’ what is being done to children.

What must be near the high-water mark of the absurd came in an ABC report in 2021: “Dr Telfer is credited with helping to save many children's lives without pulling out a single scalpel or tending to any life-threatening diseases”.

Multiple studies that I have referenced in the past in GCN confirm that the long-term outcome for those who undergo ‘transition’ is miserable and notable for the high suicide rate and heavy burden psychiatric comorbidities.
