Medicine doesn't merely diagnose patients. It identifies and defines them, establishes categories, terminology, pathways and expectations.
Once a condition has:
• a diagnostic label,
• specialist clinics,
• professional guidelines,
• treatment protocols,
• dedicated funding,
• advocacy organisations,
• referral pathways,
• clinicians specialising in it,
Once the medical profession provides a ‘status’ that explains mediocrity, misery and anxiety and there is a way to reveres it, I’m in:
It doesn't necessarily mean the cases are fictitious, rather, the threshold for recognising a particular condition can change, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
To start with, I pay yearly to be regulated by AHPRA, I am obliged to do so or be unable to work in my profession in Australia.
Secondly- this level of bias in a regulatory body feels criminal to me.
Thirdly- where is this level of support for any of the other areas of medicine and health care, where there is such poor awareness, gross negligence, malpractice to a frightening degree etc etc. I come across daily idiots of very real harm in elder care, the area of care in autism, stroke management, general rehabilitation where there is no profit (hence underspending and shocking outcomes)...I could go on..

Genuine compassion for victims is a laudable human response , however it takes a measure of individual humility to acknowledge and consciously reject any narcissistic driver of expressed compassion. It seems considerable self awareness has been missing from so many key players in powerful positions whose medical training, and experience, has proved no barrier to adoption of their self perceived virtuous mission which results in risking not protecting vulnerable minors from potentially harmful medical interventions .The Social Science ( from whence this gender identity ideology came) protagonists can answer in time for themselves but medical professionals role demands a harm minimization priority
Having retired from medicine a few years ago it's easy for me to speak out. However, can you imagine the situation if our noble predecessors had not bothered with the deformed infants resulting from thalidomide, the damage done by the frontal lobotomy or, more recently, the irreparable damage done to thousands of young women globally when our proud AMA marketed their trans-vaginal mesh to treat pelvic floor conditions.
.I have spoken to medical professionals and psychotherapists who have expressed serious concerns about the adverse effects of ‘gender medicine’ and their fears of damage to their practice and personally from expressing their lack of beliefin/support of gender identity and ‘gender medicine’. As the trans lobbyists sees their grip being loosened on some Australian institutions, I have read of their turn to spreading their ideology into general practice, medical regulation and ‘educating’ the Federal Health Minister, bureaucrats judiciary as well as retaining a tight grip on ‘progressive’ political parties —all strategies set out in the Reuters, OGLYO & Dentons report “Only Adults? …” This is no grass roots movement. It’s an anti woman, lesbian and gay DARVO exercise in male entitlement and control.
Yes Vincent, we ( from professionals through to individuals in the population) need first to be able to talk about issues without the threat of career retribution or being labeled as bigot. At least in the U.K. the courts have helped but we in Oz, along with Canada and the U.S. are largely kept quiet by the “ Wokedom “ ( the universities, the Arts , and the mainstream media)
