Impressive preamble article, I believe that one of the most important statements contained therein has been this:

“The Cass review made it clear that there is no predictive validity to a diagnosis of trans identity,” she says. “It’s a gamble and one I’m not prepared to take. There’s a difference between putting a child on CBT [cognitive behavioural therapy] or not and putting them on an experimental medical pathway that is likely to lead to major surgery.”

. . . . . . . . . Common sense and addresses the much violated concept in 'gender medicine' of "doing no harm".

It's rare to see anyone defending the clinical trial these days, although I know there are some well informed people who do support it.

I don't think that anyone questions the fact that a randomised controlled clinical trial is the gold standard for investigating the efficacy and safety of a medical intervention/treatment.

The attempt on the part of trans activists to block research on the affirming care model makes it quite obvious that sex transitioning is a socio-political ideology, rather than a treatment grounded in evidence based medicine. The success of gender skeptics in pushing for some real science is encouraging news, and the desperate push-back to doing actual science exposes this cult of bodily mutilation for what it is. Society owes a great debt to the early whistle-blowers who sometimes made great sacrifices for truth.
